おばあさんというのが97歳で死んだそうだが、その死に方が実にきれいだったという。97歳までひとりで何でもやっていて、死ぬ前の日に自分の身の回りのいらなくなったものを全部捨てて、洗濯物も全部してきれいにたたんで、それが終わると晩御飯だったのだが、今日は食欲がないといって食べずに寝たそうだ。翌朝、娘がおばあちゃん起きるのが遅いなあと思いながら部屋を空けるとそこで死んでいたというのである。どうも自分で死期が分かったのではないだろうかと言っていた。
